Medicine for people seeking holistic alternatives

Dear Friends, Colleagues, Clients and Patients,

 

 It saddens us greatly to announce the closing of the Plum Spring Clinic effective Friday August 1^st, at 8 PM, 2008.  We have had a wonderful experience over the last 7 ½ years building our relationships with you as we all learned together how to better treat chronic health problems.  Unfortunately most of our clients are policyholders of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina, and Blue Cross has made the decision that it will not continue to reimburse us for a number of the core services we provide to patients (based on their opinion that they are non-covered alternative/holistic services, not medically necessary or not within the standard of care). Blue Cross is willing to cover some of what we do but not to the extent that would allow our business model to work and so we must close our doors.

 

We are committed to helping you in this transition.  Most of us hope to open or affiliate with new practices. In the month of August we can see you as needed in the current clinic space. Because none of us will have health insurance affiliation during this period these visits will have to be paid at the time of service.  All previously set appointments have been cancelled, and we will each do our own scheduling of patient visits. Our prime goal during this period will be to assist you in transition of care and meeting urgent medical needs.

 

Regarding supplements, beginning in September supplement purchasing will continue through the private practice of Michael Sharp, MD, PA.  Please revisit this site in the coming weeks for more detailed information. Please call 919-698-8995 with any specific questions or requests.
